Breakfast Program

J. J. Curling Elementary offers a five-day per week Breakfast Program through the Newfoundland and Labrador Kids Eat Smart Foundation. Funds are raised through various promotions throughout the school year and through the generous donations of parents. Children can have a healthy breakfast snack or a complete breakfast by choosing from such offerings as fruit, toast or cereal, and yogurt or milk. The full breakfast choices are available in the school cafeteria on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and they are served by a dedicated group of volunteer parents and our Community in School Worker. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, a lighter fare is served in the upstairs hallway - we refer to this as our Brain Boost - at least three food groups are served every day and all children are encouraged to partake.
